Memory Shields

Shield #9 holds 1,000 pieces of tape and was created in response to a call by artist Elizabeth Awalt to mark the tragedy of the Covid pandemic. Each piece of tape on these shields is representative of  the number of individuals who died during the pandemic. It was a call that I continued on my own through the creation of these memory shields. Each piece was created while meditating on the lack of action that caused such destruction for all of us.
