Spend a productive week or two in this Boston residency focusing on your artwork and getting to know the city's historical and contemporary culture. Everything you need to work and to live is in one building. This residency is located in a private home and the selected artist(s) will have their own private attic floor. Martha Chason-Sokol is a full time working artist and a long time resident in the community. She will be available to introduce you to the Greater Boston art community including it's many museums, galleries, art stores, artist owned buildings and artists.
Housing and studio space for this residency includes two attic rooms and a bathroom on a private floor. It is a quiet, peaceful space perfect for writers, artists, and other creatives who want a work space as well as a living space. One room is designed for use as a bedroom with a queen size bed, two sofa couches, a large bureau, a closet, a TV with internet and a DVD player. The second room is designed as a studio. In this room you will find a double desk, a very large drawing table, and paper storage. There is also a closet, a TV with internet access and two sofa beds. Your private studio is meant for dry materials only. A shared studio is available in the basement for encaustic painting and other wet materials.
Brookline Village is a residential area with an urban feel. In the Village you will find restaurants, shops and coffee houses. You can find Chinese, Turkish, Thai, Venezuelan, Japanese and farm to table restaurants just around the corner as well as a cheese shop, chocolatier, and luxury wine store.

Residency Pricing Available December through February | Partners Welcome Minimum 7 Days | Rolling Admissions 7 Night Package - $420 8+ Nights - $55 per additional night Encaustic/Wet Material Studio Pricing Studio Fee: $10/hour Materials Fee: $10/hour (substrates not included) Please note! You must be able to manage stairs! Our home is on the second floor of a two family house and the attic floor is another flight up. The stairs to the attic floor are narrow and steep. Questions?
