Woven
These sculptures take shape as I draw lines and textures into and around domestic and industrial materials with yarns and threads. Weaving in three dimensions, I wrap, bind, stretch, hold, tie, and interlace, building tension while cushioning the hard, sharp edges of the metallic and plastic forms. Repetitive labor becomes visible in the act of weaving skins, clothing, and bandages around pots, pans, plastic Home Depot buckets, and translucent orange pill bottles - all symbols of and effects of unpaid domestic labor.
